Certified Nursing Assistant

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, your role is pivotal in supporting healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring the well-being of individuals across diverse healthcare settings. Collaborating closely with registered nurses and medical staff, CNAs play a crucial role in providing compassionate and efficient care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Provide mobility assistance and assist with patient transfers.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Report changes in patients' conditions to the supervising nurse.
  • Accurately document patient care activities in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Follow established protocols for infection control and safety.
  • Adhere to proper lifting and transfer techniques for the safety of patients and healthcare providers.
  • Observe and report any changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions.
  • Monitor and assist with medication administration as directed by the nursing staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to maintain and enhance CNA skills.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Connecticut.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compassion: Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Physical Stamina: Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and moving patients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adherence to state and federal regulations governing healthcare practices.
