We're partnering with an established California general contractor that's looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its San Diego team.
This role offers the opportunity to lead ground-up multifamily construction, overseeing day-to-day field operations from start through closeout. The company has an active project pipeline throughout California, providing opportunities for long-term growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee daily field operations on ground-up multifamily construction projects
- Manage subcontractors, field personnel, site logistics, and construction activities
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-term look-ahead schedules
- Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
- Lead subcontractor meetings and ensure work progresses according to schedule
- Oversee quality control, site safety, inspections, and compliance with project specifications
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, construction issues, and scheduling delays
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, material deliveries, and subcontractor activities with the project team
- Manage punch lists, inspections, and final project closeout
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a general contractor
- Strong ground-up multifamily construction experience, preferably with podium or mixed-use developments
- Experience managing large-scale multifamily projects from ground-up construction through completion
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, MEP coordination, and quality control
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and maintaining project schedules
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and construction scheduling software
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego
