Join Amazon’s mission to become Earth’s safest place to work. We’re seeking a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead our Global WHS Program implementation and directly impact associate wellbeing while driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Act as the site’s safety champion and oversee safety compliance efforts.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, site audits, and incident trend analyses to target improvements.
- Develop and implement practical safety solutions that protect associates and support productivity.
- Lead the first‑aid program and emergency response capabilities, ensuring immediate care is always available.
- Transform safety data into actionable insights using technology and analytics.
- Engage associates and collaborate with Operations leadership to integrate safety into all aspects of the business.
- Maintain records, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
- Travel 50‑70% of the time and work varied shifts.

Additional Job Elements
- Lifting up to 49 pounds and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
- Standing or walking for up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Working in environments with varying noise levels, temperatures, weather, and outdoor loading departments.
- Continuously climbing and descending stairs at sites that have them.
- Assisting emergency response at the site and maintaining effective care delivery during emergencies.
Required Certifications
- Adult First Aid, CPR, or AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be obtained within 3 weeks of starting).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibility in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- 3+ years of people and performance management experience, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety experience.
- Experience at a distribution center or manufacturing site of at least 250 people (mix of exempt and non‑exempt employees).
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with site leaders.
- Analytical skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
- Adaptability to fast‑paced environments with changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, pivot tables, charts, and graphics.
- Ability to manage multiple sites remotely.
