Responsibilities
- Perform high‑quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X‑ray and CT modalities.
- Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
- Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
- Operate X‑ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Produce accurate, high‑quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
- Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
Experience: Required minimum 2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging and CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must be able to produce very high‑quality special imaging with little supervision and function effectively in a team‑oriented environment. Must be familiar with age‑specific criteria.
Required Registration/Certification
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Must hold both Radiography (ARRT) (R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C) certifications.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required: certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or an AHA‑recognized equivalent) or the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
