Multi-Modality Technologist (X-Ray/CT) – Part Time

Part Time – Days at MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, 2080 Sam Rittenberg, West Ashley SC 29407. The role involves performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and CT modalities, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and CT modalities.
• Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
• Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote cooperation.
• Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
• Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently following departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize exposure.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

Required: 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging and CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must produce high-quality special imaging with little supervision and function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with age-specific criteria is required.

Required Registration and Certification

• Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (C).
• Registered with South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, either from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
