Job Description Summary: $10,000 sign-on bonus + up to $5,000 relocation assistance available. Full Time – Days. MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, part of MUSC Health Charleston Medical Center Downtown. Location: 2080 Sam Rittenberg, West Ashley SC 29407. The team provides a patient-centered approach covering illnesses, injuries, and life‑threatening conditions.

Entity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). Worker Type: Employee. Worker Sub-Type: Regular. Cost Center: CC CHS - West Ashley - Medical Center - FSED. Pay Rate Type: Hourly. Pay Grade: Health-29. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36. Work Shift: Day (United States of America).

Compensation & Incentives

Responsibilities

  • Perform high‑quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X‑ray and CT modalities.
  • Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
  • Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
  • Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
  • Operate X‑ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Produce accurate, high‑quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
  • Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

Required: 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must produce very high‑quality special imaging with little supervision, function effectively in a team‑oriented environment, and be familiar with age‑specific criteria.

Required Registration/Certification

  • Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Must hold both Radiography (R) & Computed Tomography (C) registrations.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).
