Multi Modality Technologist - South Lamar

This position is responsible for solid to expert knowledge of the modality for which they are currently cross-training. Communicates and works independently in performing all procedures on customers ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood. Prioritizes, provides, and promotes quality patient care to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. David's Healthcare. Maintains and supports facility technical and documentation expectations consistent with JCAHO regulations and standards. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees. Demonstrates independent critical thinking skills to assume accountability for personal and team contributions.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required to have at least two of the credentials bulleted below.

  • Registered technologist with current certification by ARRT (R) and CE compliance. ARRT (VI), (CV), or (MRI) certification within one (1) year of cross-training start date.
  • ARRT (CT) certification within six (6) months of cross-training start date.

Required: Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC.

Education: Graduate of AMA-approved school of radiologic technology.

Experience: 2 years of previous diagnostic experience in an acute care facility is desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Familiar with the majority of diagnostic radiology procedures. High degree of manual, mental and dexterity skills necessary for the operation of equipment and patient care. Capable of applying technical skills to all ages of patients.

Degree of Supervision Required: Able to work independently.

Orientation Period: 60 days contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by the department Director/designee.
