Overview

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122‑bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of x‑ray, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, and/or mammography equipment. Assists in accomplishing departmental objectives and goals, helps create an environment that enables the medical imaging department to meet operational goals. Performs at least three of the modalities listed on a regular basis. This position is represented by SEIU.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Associate's Degree in radiologic technology – required; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent – preferred; Master’s Degree – preferred.
  • Three years’ technical experience – preferred.

Licenses / Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy – required.
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) license in the state of practice – required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification – required.
  • Current certification in one of the modalities and ability to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality (Computed Tomography, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography or Positron Emission Tomography) – required.
  • ARRT‑Radiography, ARRT‑Computed Tomography or required alternative modality certifications – required.

Facility Specific License / Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy – required.

Essential Functions

  • Performs various radiographic, mammographic, computed tomography and/or ultrasound examinations consistent with employee’s experience, completing three modalities competently.
  • Safely transports and transfers patients between gurneys and wheelchairs, tests defibrillator and checks crash cart integrity, and performs mobile imaging examinations as necessary.
  • Safely prepares contrast agents for medical imaging procedures.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
