Multi-Department Program Director - Aquatics and Sports

Program DirectorThe YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a Multi-Department Program Director for our Highland Lakes branch in Burnet, TX. The Program Director will provide leadership and support for the Aquatics and Sports departments and will interact with employees, management, and members in an outgoing, courteous manner.Duties include, but not limited to:Hands on management of multiple-departments including aquatics and sportsManages, directs and supervises aquatics and sports activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectivesMonitor and maintain related department budgetsProvide hands on duties as needed including acting as pool manager, head guard, swim instructor, swim coach, and water fitness instructorHire qualified staff and conduct staff trainingsProgram development and growthAssist with daily upkeep of the facilitySkills/requirements:Must be at least 21 years of ageYMCA Program Director or related experience preferredMust possess excellent customer service skillsMust have aquatics and youth sports experienceAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certifications requiredAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer or YMCA Lifeguard Trainer requiredAbility to relate well to children, to communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain positive relations with members staff, and Y leadershipAbility to speak effectively before groups of members, participants, volunteers or Y employeesAbility to attract, maintain, lead and motivate quality staff and volunteer leadershipModel the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and ResponsibilityMust be able to pass reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender registry checkWe offer a comprehensive benefits package including pay commensurate with skills and experience; medical/dental/vision options, LTD/life insurance, paid-time off for vacation, sick and holiday, tuition assistance, family membership to YMCAs in Central Texas, discount for child care programming and 12% company paid retirement after two years of full-time service and meeting vesting rules.Pay rate: $47,000 to $53,790/yearAbout us: We are a not-for-profit services association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout 7 Texas counties.
