Multi-Color Offset Press OperatorWe are seeking an experienced Multi-Color Offset Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain 6–8 color offset printing presses to produce high-quality commercial and packaging materials. This role requires advanced knowledge of color management, specialty coatings, cold foil applications, press proof approval, and preventative maintenance aligned with OEM specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to quality, efficiency, and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate 6–8 color sheetfed or web offset pressesReview job tickets and verify paper stock, ink, plates, coatings, cold foil materials, and production specificationsPerform plate hanging, ink mixing, advanced color matching, and press adjustmentsManage press proofs and conduct internal quality checks prior to production runsCoordinate and obtain color approvals and customer sign-offs on press proofsMaintain tight color tolerances and precise registration throughout productionSet up and run specialty coatings including aqueous, UV, matte, gloss, and other inline finishesOperate and maintain cold foil units, ensuring proper adhesion, registration, and finish qualityMonitor press performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain efficiency and minimize wasteInspect printed sheets for color accuracy, coating quality, foil adhesion, and overall print standardsPerform preventative maintenance (PMs) to meet or exceed OEM specificationsMaintain detailed maintenance records and ensure equipment operates within manufacturer tolerancesTroubleshoot mechanical, coating, foil, and print-quality issues to minimize downtimeMaintain accurate production logs and documentationFollow all company safety procedures and quality standardsRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience operating multi-color offset pressesProven experience running 6–8 color presses from manufacturers such as Komori Corporation, Heidelberg Druckmaschinen AG, Koenig & Bauer (KBA)Hands-on experience running specialty coatings (aqueous, UV, matte/gloss finishes)Experience operating cold foil applications inline with offset pressesDemonstrated ability to manage press proofs and secure color sign-offsStrong understanding of color theory, ink systems, and print quality controlMechanical aptitude with the ability to perform preventative maintenance to OEM standardsAbility to read and interpret job specifications and production schedulesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periodsHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)Preferred SkillsExperience in high-end commercial print or folding carton packagingKnowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principlesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented environmentWork EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing/print production facilityExposure to noise, ink, solvents, coatings, and paper dustShift flexibility may be requiredAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
