developing interventions and behavior plans for the purpose of promoting equitable student
achievement. Assists in helping schools determine best practices and assists with supporting
school needs. Funding for the Behavior Specialist position is reimbursed by Special School

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Essential Functions
- Works as a part of a multi-tiered systems of support school-based teams to facilitate the
- Provides ongoing consultation and treatment planning support for school administrators,
students and school programs.
- Provides evidence based assessment, intervention, consultation, and referral services for

- Must have a foundation of applied behavior analysis.
- Must have an understanding of behavioral characteristics as it relates to trauma.
- Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to stay grounded in emotionally charged situations.
- Has ability to create written correspondents with all stakeholders and present data.
- Maintains appropriate records and information.

- Five years teaching experience or providing related behavioral services.
- Experience with working with students with special needs.
- Three years of successful experience working with students with behavioral regulation
