Supporting a large-scale migration of SQL Server environments from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, the full-time MS SQL Server DBA will manage database migrations, performance tuning, and production support while working remotely. Key responsibilities Lead end-to-end migration of Microsoft SQL Server databases to AWS, including assessing existing environments and designing migration plans Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments on AWS, while troubleshooting performance and availability issues Create operational documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the migration lifecycle Required qualifications 8+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience Strong experience with SQL Server versions 2008 R2 through 2022 and cloud migration to AWS Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies Strong knowledge of Amazon EC2, EBS, VPC, and cloud-based SQL Server operations
