Mro Purchasing ClerkMendocino Forest Products Company (MFP) is looking for an experienced MRO Purchasing Clerk to join our sawmill maintenance team in Ukiah, CA. This is a non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $28.65 and includes benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K matching and company paid Life Insurance.This position is onsite and requires regular, physical attendance. Successful candidates must be able to work in person, interact directly with co-workers and team members, and fully participate in collaborative, in-office activities.

Additionally, the Mendocino Companies own and operate a 25-megaWatt biomass cogeneration power plant and wood pellet plant.ResponsibilitiesIdentifies potential supplies and facilitates qualifying new suppliersConfers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery scheduleMaintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventoriesExpedites delivery of goods to usersCounts, measures, or weighs articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or storage receiptsExamines articles for defects and sort articles according to extent of defectUnloads and unpacks incoming shipments by hand or forkliftUses a keyboard to enter purchasing and receiving information into computerSorts and files purchasing and receiving recordsPrepares spreadsheets and obtains details for pricesMaintains vendor list of prospective subcontractors and materials/new productsCollects and enters bids into spreadsheets for evaluation by the ManagerProvides samples and information to staff as requestedCorresponds, issues and tracks Purchase Orders with outside vendorsConfirms with vendors delivery schedules to ensure Company can meet requirementsDecides with vendors for timely product pick-upCreates PO's to Companies as requiredCloses PO's in computer systems at completion as neededOrganizes and maintains MRO inventoriesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required and minimum of six months experience in warehouse, shipping, or sales preferably with a company that manages and sells lumber or similar material or the equivalent combination of education and experienceMust maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible to operate a company vehicle including automobiles and trucks in accordance with company policy guidelineAbility to obtain and maintain a forklift operator's license through company-provided training, or provide proof of a current or previous forklift operator's license.Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suiteExperience with purchasing and accounting software preferredPhysical Demands:Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer and using standard office equipment.Regular use of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, including computers, and phones.Frequent reaching with hands and arms; occasional standing, walking, bending, and light lifting of office materials.Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 20-50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close vision for computer work and document review, as well as the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting with moderate noise levels.Frequent interaction with internal teams, customers, and vendors via phone, video, and in-person meetingsPosition may involve managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Work may involve both indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to varying weather conditionsThis position may require wearing eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, safety vest or hard hat when entering safety sensitive areasCompetencies:Teamwork: Balances team and individual responsibilities;
