Certified MRI Technologist within 1 year - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT); Registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) within 1 year - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Education: Certificate of Completion: Associate's Degree: Related Field, Work Experience: Performs MRI procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging Exhibits competency in performing MRI procedures. Evaluates the finished images to ensure appropriate identification and image quality are being submitted to the radiologists Ensures patient comfort and safety (i.e. use of earplugs) to maintain quality care during the procedure Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing Employee Development/Performance Improvement Maintains working knowledge of equipment in order to function on both high field and low field magnet Technically knowledgeable of equipment operation including hardware and software Checks equipment for general safety and reports problems through appropriate channels Performs support functions of the MRI/Medical Imaging Department Promptly and accurately enter patient information into the HIS system Ensures safe environment by monitoring people who come within zone 3 & 4 Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment Assumes responsibility for training fellow technologists and students Assists Lead Technologist in teaching MRI procedures to coworkers/students
