MRI Technologist
Perform magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiologic imaging procedure/exams to patients of all ages for the purpose of diagnosis of anatomic and physiological disorders.
- Review patient history and physician’s orders.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
- When ordered, prepare and administer contrast media and/or medication within scope of practice.
- Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepare equipment and supplies.
- Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Position patient and perform imaging procedure(s).
- Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
- Coordinate MRI examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assist with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments in the absence of the MRI supervisor/team lead.
- Use computer system in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform all necessary computer operations to ensure proper examination documentation and charges.
- Screen patients for any contraindication for MRI exam.
- Be educated on how to identify MRI compatible and non-compatible items within various patients.

Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree.
- ARRT and AMRIT with additional certification in MRI.
- If not certified in MRI, must be certified within one year of date of hire or transfer to position.
- BLS required.
