Job Summary
Under indirect supervision performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation of MRI images. MRI technologists need to be skilled and detail-oriented to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
Days: Various days between Monday - Friday Hours: Varies depending on staffing
Major Job Functions
- Operate all MRI equipment for the productions of diagnostic imaging.
- Film, archive and retrieve studies as needed
- Prepare patient for procedure, including explanation of procedure, interviewing of patients, etc.
- Monitor Image quality
- Report all problems, artifacts, etc. to MRI Manager
- Work dependently and independently of others as the need requires
- Use good judgment in all areas of work performed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain professional relations with patients, visitors and staff
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested.
Specifications
- Education: Completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program, associate’s degree required
- Experience: Magnetic resonance imaging strongly recommended.
- Certification/License/Registration: Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT. State Licensure or certification is required. ACLS and BLS/CPR certification required. Maintains Continuing Education Credits required.
