Role Overview
Responsible for independently operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and care across all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform proficient MRI procedures, including proper positioning, coil selection, and protocol adherence to ensure timely and accurate imaging for radiologist interpretation.
- Screen patients and staff using safety questionnaires, verify identity, and communicate MR safety and clinical history. Coordinate sedation needs and inform about delays.
- Prepare the scan room, maintain supplies, and follow cleaning protocols. Administer contrast within scope and implement emergency procedures when necessary.
- Accurately record data, perform quality control on equipment and procedures, and stay updated on organizational changes.
- Provide clinical instruction to staff and students, assist with staffing and workflow coordination, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program; ARRT or ARMRIT registration in Radiology & MRI or MRI alone; BLS certification.
- Proficient in computer use, data entry, and basic mathematical skills.
- No prior experience required; candidates may be grandfathered in if currently employed.
Supervision & Work Environment
- Non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager.
- Variable shifts at a healthcare facility, focused on MRI department operations.
