Job Summary


The MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality MRI images.


The MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality MRI images.
They communicate effectively with patients, staff, and radiologists, and may assist in training new team members.


Key Responsibilities



  • Ensure patient safety through thorough pre-screening and proper aseptic techniques.

  • Produce diagnostic-quality MRI scans and evaluate their technical accuracy.

  • Position patients and manage safety protocols, including IV starts and contrast administration.

  • Support daily equipment maintenance, manage supplies, and assist with patient transport.

  • Coordinate scheduling and optimize patient flow.

  • Train new technologists or patient coordinators as needed.

  • Conduct safety screenings to identify hazards related to magnetic fields and equipment.


Qualifications & Skills



  • High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate’s degree or related experience.

  • Active certification from ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT, and BLS certification.

  • 1–2 years of MRI experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of infection control, sterile techniques, and medical terminology.

  • Service-oriented with compassionate patient care abilities.


Physical Requirements



  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.

  • Regular stooping and kneeling.
