Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring their physical and psychological comfort.
- Select and adjust imaging protocols based on diagnosis and patient condition.
- Start IVs and administer contrast media safely, following ACR guidelines.
- Maintain equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely imaging.
- Train and orient new staff, students, and job shadows.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes.
- Clinical setting with direct patient care responsibilities.
- Physical demands include standing/walking for extended periods, lifting patients (up to 35 lbs unassisted), and pushing equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent certificate in Radiography or MRI.
- Certification: ARRT MRI registration and current CPR certification required.
- Experience: 1–2 years of MRI experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MRI equipment, and sterile techniques. Excellent communication and patient care skills.
