- Perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds and conditions
- Ensure patients feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the entire process
- Acquire and review patient questionnaire , chart and data/ requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination
- Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams
- Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam
- Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service
- Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility
- Processes billing via RIS
- Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students
- Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing
- Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
- One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities
