  • Perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds and conditions
  • Ensure patients feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the entire process
  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire , chart and data/ requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination
  • Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams
  • Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam
  • Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service
  • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility
  • Processes billing via RIS
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students
  • Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing
  • Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
  • One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities
