Job Summary And Responsibilities
As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.
- Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operators, and visitors.
- Monitor the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure safety and comfort.
- Explain testing procedures to patients, ensuring they understand the exam.
- Position and instruct patients in preparation for the MRI test.
- Know cross-sectional anatomy of head, thorax, abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices, and procedures.
- Familiar with specific MRI coding systems.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR) or ARMRIT MRI.
- Medical Radiographer: TX (MRAD:TX).
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.
Preferred
- Associate’s degree in Healthcare field or Imaging Studies.
- 1-3 years, at least one year of MR experience.
- Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire.
