MRI Technologist (Imaging) (PRN) (Includes Saturdays)
This position is PRN—mostly Saturdays, with some weekdays if needed.
Summary
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) works under general supervision to perform diagnostic procedures for patients using an MRI machine. Responsibilities include patient safety, performance of high-quality MR studies, and effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic technique.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Order supplies and clean the workspace.
- Effectively communicate with customers, doctors, and/or other staff members.
- Train new MRI Techs and/or support staff.
Refer to the department policy and procedure manual for procedure-specific personal protective equipment requirements.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a Certified Radiologic Technology program
- Current certification ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT
- Current BLS certification
Physical Guidelines
- Ability to be exposed to minimal radiation
- Ability to stand/walk for up to eight or more hours/day
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist
- Assist patients in turning
- Assist patient in arising from exam table
- Push wheelchair patients
- Assist patient in rising from and returning to wheelchair
