Overview
$5,000 sign‑on bonus included. As an MRI Technologist, you are required to produce cross‑sectional images for medical interpretation through radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic purposes. The technologist performs MRI procedures by acquiring and analyzing data needed for diagnosis at the request of, and for interpretation by, a licensed practitioner.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and order verification.
- Appropriately manage MRI zones to ensure safety for patients, colleagues, and third‑party visitors.
- Exercise individual thought, judgment, and discretion in the performance of procedures and may require oversight of MRI Technologist Assistants.
- Produce high‑quality diagnostic images in accordance with company imaging protocols, RadSite/IAC/ACR Accreditation guidelines, and ARRT/ARMRIT practice standards.
- Demonstrate competency with differing MR equipment and power injection equipment.
- Maintain levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team‑oriented approach.
- Complete annual and ongoing education and site‑specific competencies/in‑services as designated by leadership.
- Operate multiple MR systems if required.
- Effectively communicate with patients, radiologists, and peers.
- Use all communication channels to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflict.
- Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients, families, and staff in compliance with HIPAA.
- Demonstrate independent competency in contrast safety and administration, including starting and discontinuing peripheral IVs using aseptic injection technique.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the company’s EMR systems, as well as PACS and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.
- Ensure images are sent timely and proactively address any additional workflow requirements that could delay interpretation impacting turnaround time.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow infection control practices.
- Train and orient new technologists and MR Technologist Assistants, on site or through a remote command center as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
- ARRT(MR) certification and State License, if applicable.
- BLS from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; ACLS, where applicable.
- Ability to work at several locations as needed.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree or Equivalent Experience.
- Preferred: 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
Physical Requirements
- May be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
- Exposure to a strong magnetic field.
- May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
- Spend >50% of time sitting, standing, walking; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
- Spend <50% of time stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, or balancing.
- Carry and lift patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or examination.
