Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Work Shift: Day (United States). Salary Range: $77,075.00 - $119,466.00. New rates – salary commensurate with experience. 52‑weekend Day/Evening.

Role Overview

The Medical Imaging Technologist works under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the manager, and Radiologist, performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. The technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe positive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains competent imaging skills in practicing modality/s.
• Strives to grow and develop a professional imaging department with a positive atmosphere.
• Practices in compliance with hospital/department policy and New York State and accrediting agency standards.
• Assists physicians in all aspects of procedures in assigned area.
• Provides a safe positive experience for the patient.
• Takes calls if applicable.
• Acts as mentor and preceptor to new staff and students.
• Actively supports AMCH and the imaging department in maintaining accreditations.
• Enters patient data into computer systems accurately.
• Quality‑assures images and patient information for accuracy prior to sending to PACs.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age and special characteristics of the patient.
• Obtains peripheral IV access and injects contrast material where required.

Qualifications

• Vocational School Diploma graduate of an approved two‑year AMA Radiologic Technology School – required.
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. – required.
• NYS DOH Diagnostic license and/or eligible upon hire – required.
• ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire – required.
