As an MRI Technologist at UVA Health, you will perform high-quality MRI examinations while collaborating closely with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other care team members. The Role

As a member of UVA Health's MRI team, you will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that performs a broad spectrum of routine and advanced imaging studies. This role offers exposure to complex clinical cases and the opportunity to continually expand your technicalexpertisethrough advanced imaging training.

A typical day may include:

  • Screening patients and ensuring MRI safety protocols are followed prior to imaging procedures

  • Preparing patients for exams andfacilitatinghigh-quality MRI scans

  • Collaborating with radiologistsregardingimaging orders and study requirements

  • Assistingfellow technologists with patient movement, positioning, and workflow coordination

  • Supporting room turnover andmaintaininga safe, efficient imaging environment

  • Stocking equipment and supplies to ensure operational readiness

  • Delivering compassionate patient care whilemaintainingexceptional image quality and patient safety standards

  • Working with a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, ICU, pediatric, and outpatient patients

  • Participating in ongoing education and advanced imaging training opportunities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:* Experienced candidate(s) should have completed MRI training/competency via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).* Inexperienced candidate(s) at a minimum, must be certified in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Sonography, or Vascular Sonography.* Associate's Degree preferred, but not required.

Experience: MRI experience preferred but not required.

Licensure:* Experienced candidate(s) must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).* Inexperienced candidate(s) must be registered in X-Ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy by one or more of the following agencies: "ARRT - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; ARDMS - The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, or NMTCB - The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board."* MRI Certification via the ARRT or ARMRIT must be successfully completed within 9 months of hire.* American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $41.00 - $56.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
