Position Summary
Performs routine procedures in MRI on a scheduled and emergency basis while providing a safe environment for patients and following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
MRI Technologist
- Associates degree in Allied Health required, Bachelors degree preferred
- MRI registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and completed within 18 months of hire date.
Salary Range: $93,537-$168,355/Annually
Key Responsibilities
- Performs routine procedures in MRI on a scheduled and emergency basis.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for MR imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
- Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
- Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment.
- Follows MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
MRI Senior Technologist
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree in Allied Health required, Bachelors degree preferred
- MRI registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- BLS required
- 3 years of experience working as an MRI Technologist
Salary Range: $99,153-$178,464/Annually
Key Responsibilities
- Performs the more complex MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for MRI imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.

- Performs additional tasks as delegated by manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist i.e., such as inventory review and ordering supplies, QA/QC projects, managing equipment repairs, participating in research projects, reviewing billing and coding, assist QI coordinator as needed, etc.
- Fills in for manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist as necessary, by monitoring and maintaining daily operations of clinical area.
- Acts as Board Runner Technologist.
- Acts as a champion for new equipment or processes.
- Participates in precepting new staff as requested.
- Trains fellows, residents, students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques.
