Houston Physicians Hospital is currently seeking to hire a Full Time MRI/CT Technologist!MRI/CT Technologist at Houston Physicians HospitalThis multimodality position is accountable for performing quality MRI and CT Imaging through the application of advanced technical knowledge while maintaining strict attention to patient care. This position is accountable for providing expertise for all ages from neonatal/newborn to adults.
The patient acuity ranges from stable outpatients to critically ill patients on full life support.Responsibilities:General Clinical PracticeKnow and demonstrate proficiency of all MRI and CT examinations.Maintains the safety of the MRI and CT suite in conjunction with patients and multidisciplinary staff.Evaluates examination orders for pertinent clinical information and assesses needs of patient and requirements for the exam in conjunction with the radiologist.Recognize emergent patient conditions.Coordinates critical patient transport with appropriate nursing personnel as applicable.Collaborates with Patient Services and anesthesia as needed.Ability to work independently.T eaching/Personal KnowledgeProvide positive environment for employees to seek their highest potential.Provides appropriate information and instruction to patient and family.Department Policy and ProcedureDemonstrate competency and proficiency in performing all MRI and CT procedures as identified in the MRI/CT Tech competency.Identify anatomical orientation, sequencing of images and verify accurate patient identification of images for accurate record retention and archiving.Accurately assess, select, prepare and administer contrast materials to patients in accordance to best clinical practices.Demonstrate competency and efficiency in safety in the MRI and CT suite.Ability to assess patient condition; preserve patient safety through proper use of immobilization devices.Maintain confidentiality of all patient and facility related information.Care of Environment and EquipmentSupplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner.Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment.Maintain a clean, neat and safe environment for patients and staff according to facility Policies.Information ProcessingUse computer system in documenting, correctly and accurately, patient information.Proficient in computer terminology and applications.Demonstrate the ability to perform all necessary computer operations to include PACS system. Verify accurate charge capture for procedures performed.Accurately transcribe physician orders and facilitate correcting mistakes or unclear orders with appropriate people.Quality Improvement and SafetyReport all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other facility employees.Assist in identifying appropriate indicators for the department's Quality Improvement programs.Discuss difficult cases with radiologist to reduce the number of patient call backs.Initiate occurrence reports when problems are identified.Performs other duties as required.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentARRT requiredMRI and or CT certification preferredState registration if required by respective stateBLS Certified2-3 years MRI experiencePossess a level of clinical expertise and competency in cross sectional anatomyVenipuncture skills requiredAbility to handle critical care situations which can create a high level of stressMust be willing to cross train into X-rayWhat We Offer:As a valued member of USPI, your health and well?being are important to us.
