RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI & CT Technologist to join our team. This is a temporary/PRN position covering three locations—McKinney, Plano, and Richardson—working varied shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(80%) Patient Imaging
- Performs routine and advanced imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision or repeats.
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
- Prepares patients for MRI and/or CT procedures, explaining the procedure and positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned.
- Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed.
- Maintains a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring offices and other team members and peers.
- Converse with physicians, nurses, patients and family members as required.
- Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, patients, and other team members.
- Maintains accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and other team members.
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
(15%) Department Support
- Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
- Assists with maintaining an updated MRI and/or CT protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitors medical supply inventory.
- Assists with training of new team members and acts as a resource, providing technical expertise.
(5%) Performs other tasks and projects as assigned
Required
- ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, dependent on state regulations and business needs.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiography.
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
- Current CPR certification.
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
- Certification in imaging specialty.
- 2 years of MRI experience; customer service skills a must.
Preferred
- Bilingual.
