AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a fellowship-trained Movement Disorders Neurologist to join their expanding academic neurology program. This role involves developing a comprehensive movement disorders practice, providing primarily outpatient subspecialty care, and contributing to multidisciplinary programs. The physician will also dedicate 20% of their effort to Neurology leadership responsibilities within Graduate Medical Education (GME), playing a key role in the development of the AdventHealth Tampa Neurology Residency Program.

  • 80% Clinical / 20% Academic, GME, Administrative, and Program Development effort split
  • Focus on developing a comprehensive movement disorders practice
  • Primarily outpatient subspecialty care
  • Opportunities to build multidisciplinary programs in collaboration with neurosurgery, rehabilitation, psychiatry, neuropsychology, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and social work
  • Role may include development of advanced therapeutic services such as botulinum toxin injections, deep brain stimulation evaluation and programming, device-based therapies, and multidisciplinary Parkinson's disease care pathways
  • The West Florida Division Medical Group has nearly tripled in size over the last six years and projects to grow to 900 providers by the end of 2026

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient consultation and longitudinal care for patients with movement disorders
  • Participate in inpatient neurology consultation coverage as appropriate
  • Evaluate and manage Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia, chorea, ataxia, atypical parkinsonism, and related conditions
  • Perform botulinum toxin injections and other movement disorder procedures as appropriate
  • Develop or support DBS evaluation, referral, and programming workflows if applicable
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation, neurosurgery, psychiatry, neuropsychology, therapy services, and allied health teams
  • Help establish clinical pathways for movement disorders care across AdventHealth Tampa
  • Participate in GME teaching, including resident didactics, case conferences, journal club, morning report, and bedside or clinic-based teaching

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board eligible or board certified in Neurology
  • Fellowship training in Movement Disorders preferred
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Florida
  • Experience with botulinum toxin injections required or strongly preferred
  • Experience with DBS evaluation and/or programming preferred
  • Strong interest in resident education, academic program development, multidisciplinary care, and clinical program building
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care skills
