AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a fellowship-trained Movement Disorders Neurologist to join their expanding academic neurology program. This role involves developing a comprehensive movement disorders practice, providing primarily outpatient subspecialty care, and building multidisciplinary programs. The position includes 80% clinical effort and 20% dedicated to Neurology leadership responsibilities within GME, contributing to the development of the AdventHealth Tampa Neurology Residency Program.

  • Involvement in the development of the AdventHealth Tampa Neurology Residency Program, scheduled to begin in July 2027
  • Involvement in the resident general neurology clinic planned for July 2028

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient consultation and longitudinal care for patients with movement disorders
  • Participate in inpatient neurology consultation coverage as appropriate
  • Evaluate and manage Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia, chorea, ataxia, atypical parkinsonism, and related conditions
  • Perform botulinum toxin injections and other movement disorder procedures as appropriate
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation, neurosurgery, psychiatry, neuropsychology, therapy services, and allied health teams
  • Participate in GME teaching, including resident didactics, case conferences, journal club, morning report, and bedside or clinic-based teaching
  • Precept neurology residents in the resident general neurology continuity clinic for one half-day per week
  • Serve as the GME Research Director or as the GME Associate Program Director for Neurology Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board eligible or board certified in Neurology
  • Fellowship training in Movement Disorders preferred
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Florida
  • Experience with botulinum toxin injections required or strongly preferred
  • Experience with DBS evaluation and/or programming preferred
  • Strong interest in resident education, academic program development, multidisciplinary care, and clinical program building
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care skills
