The only way the fleet moves is if the battery room is dialed in - and that's your domain. As the Motive Power Battery Systems Technician, you own the energy hub that keeps operations running 24/7 (with Christmas Day as the only exception). Reliability and safety are everything here - when you show up ready, the fleet does too.
Compensation & Employment- Pay: up to $25/hr, commensurate with experience (battery room or distribution maintenance experience prioritized for the top of the range)
- W-2 employment through Mural Group (not 1099)
- Mural Group contributes $500/month toward health insurance, which fully covers an individual employee
- Long-term contract with a path to a Lead Technician role
Same days and hours every week.
- Weekday openings (40 hrs/wk):
- Relief Tech: Tuesday-Saturday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
- Weekend openings (24 hrs/wk):
- Saturday & Sunday 12-hour day shift 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
Weekday roles are 40 straight hours with no structural overtime. Weekend roles offer a consistent 24-hour, two-day schedule - great for part-time or supplemental income.
Your Core Impact- Perform routine lead acid battery care: watering, cleaning, equalization, and capacity testing
- Execute changeouts/swaps to keep lift trucks running throughout every shift
- Inspect chargers, connectors, and cables; complete minor repairs and escalate issues as needed
- Track charge/discharge cycles and maintain accurate logs
- Diagnose underperforming batteries with voltmeters, hydrometers, and other diagnostic tools
- Maintain a clean, organized, OSHA compliant battery room
- Safely handle and neutralize electrolyte spills using proper PPE and procedures
- Coordinate with operators to time swaps with minimal operational impact
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years in a battery room, industrial/warehouse maintenance, or closely related skilled trade
- Working knowledge of lead acid maintenance (watering, equalization, specific gravity testing)
- Proven OSHA safety practices and consistent PPE usage
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate battery lifts/hoists safely
- Rock solid attendance - the fleet depends on you
- Direct battery room experience in distribution, warehouse, or logistics environments
- Understanding of DC electrical systems and charging fundamentals
- Forklift operator certification
- OSHA 10 or 30 (General Industry)
- Troubleshooting skills for charger faults, bad cells, or connectors
- Candidates from auto/diesel, HVAC, or industrial electrical trades with strong mechanical aptitude and a safety first mindset
- Fixed schedule - no rotation
- PPE provided (steel toe boots required; bring your own)
