Monitoring and Observability Engineer – Cloud PlatformsContract Length: 12 months + potential extensionLocation: Dallas, Texas – Hybrid (4 days onsite downtown Dallas)Shift: May include rotating after-hours or weekend supportWe are seeking a mid-level Enterprise Observability Engineer for our Dallas client. This role focuses on designing and implementing automated monitoring solutions, managing observability tools (Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, Evolven), and supporting 24/7 production environments in both on-premise and cloud infrastructures.QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred4+ years in IT operations, infrastructure, or application monitoringStrong experience with Dynatrace (APM, infrastructure monitoring)Some familiarity with Ftrace, ThousandEyes, EvolvenExperience with intelligence platforms (e.g., Moogsoft, BigPanda)Hands-on experience in scripting (Python, Perl, Java), REST APIs, and webhooksSolid knowledge of cloud-native monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes/OpenShift environmentsExperience with Unix, Linux, and Windows systemExperience with log analysis and application tracingSLO/SLI metrics integrationStrong communication and documentation skillsKey ResponsibilitiesMonitor infrastructure, applications, and websites; resolve Level 1 issues and escalate when necessaryPerform advanced Level 2 diagnostics, including log analysis and performance troubleshootingDesign and configure observability tools such as Ftrace, ThousandEyes, EvolvenImplement Level 0 automation (e.g., auto-ticketing, alert routing)Integrate data into event intelligence platforms for real-time visibilityLead and coordinate incident response using observability insightsMaintain shift logs and ensure effective communication during shift handoversTrain and support teams on monitoring tools and processesCollaborate on SLO/SLI metrics and performance tuningParticipate in on-call rotation, including after-hours/weekend shiftsObtain Dynatrace Specialist certification within 6 months of hireWhy Apply?Work on high-impact enterprise systemsSupport leading observability platformsBe part of a forward-thinking digital intelligence teamGenius Road, LLC is proud to be a Certified Women's Business Enterprise, an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity.
