Monitor Tech PositionAt Spartanburg Regional Healthcare, we are looking for exciting candidates that are interested in a role in Monitor Tech. If you meet the following requirements, please apply!Minimum Requirements:High School Graduate or equivalentOne-year acute care experienceMust be able to read, write and speak English fluentlyBLSCertificate for successful completion of the arrhythmia courseCore Job Responsibilities:Performs Secretary DutiesBasic Computer SkillsKnowledgeable in use of and response to Code AlertIdentifies areas for improvement and seeks ways to work on self-defined weaknessesRemains committed to unit, department, and division goalsAttends continuing education classes for improvement offered at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.Reports risk management concerns to appropriate personAdheres to proper chain of command.Serve as an information resource for staffMaintains visual checks on monitors constantly until relieved by a qualified person.Monitors are observed continuously, and the patient's rhythm is documented on flow sheet every eight (8) hours to include date, time, rate, rhythm, PR interval, QRS duration, rhythm interpretation, ST analysis.Assures that alarms are maintained in the ON position at all times.
Reports mechanical difficulties to the appropriate person and follows up as necessary.Reports any life-threatening rhythms or rhythms of significant change immediately to the nurse. Notifies RN promptly when procedures are performed, i.e., removal of epicardial wires, pacemaker interrogation, etc.Ensure individual telemetry units are cleaned after each use.Admit and discharge patients from system in a timely manner.Ensures proper disposition of completed flowsheets and any other patient recordsMaintains adequate supply of monitoring equipment.Routinely reviews rhythm strips and the patient's condition with the nurse in a timely manner.Other Duties as assigned
