Molecular Pathologist / Laboratory Geneticist
Position: Full‑time faculty (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical (X) series to support growth in our CLIA/CAP‑accredited molecular genetic pathology laboratory. The candidate may be appointed as Assistant or Associate Director based on experience.
Qualifications: MD (or MD equivalent) and/or PhD with ABP Board Certification/Eligibility in Molecular Genetic Pathology, or ABMGG Board Certification/Eligibility in Molecular Genetics and Genomics or Laboratory Genetics & Genomics by the time of hire. Experience in inherited disease genomics and/or cancer genomics, next‑generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, and hands‑on molecular analyses in a clinical or experimental setting is required. Demonstrated interest in translational research.
Responsibilities
Lead germline testing including genome sequencing, hereditary cancer panel testing, and pharmacogenomics; participate in somatic testing and collaborate on development and validation of new tests. Conduct next‑generation sequencing, PCR‑based testing, and FISH testing. Attend interdisciplinary molecular board meetings. Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and students. Engage in clinical and translational research.

Location: San Francisco, CA
The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,900 - $405,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
