At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.Job DescriptionThis position requires a person to transform components from a raw material state to a complete product through the molding process while working in a team environment. Must be able to comply with all governing rules including Smith & Nephew policies and procedures and adhere to safety and cleanliness practices in the workplace. This position works under moderate supervision. Must perform other assignments as assigned inside and outside of a clean room environment.What will you be doing?Visually inspect mold and equipment prior to installing into mold machineSet-up, operation, and inspection of product produced on molding equipmentVerify equipment function; ejector switch, mold opening and closing and side cores opening and closing freely, abnormal noise, water leakage, etc… bring it to attention of engineers and PM tech.Use of appropriate inspection equipmentComplete and understand documentation needed to comply with Smith & Nephew policies, Quality Manual and procedures including but not limited to: FDA, QSR and various domestic and international standards and regulations. Company policies and procedures. Complete assigned training on time.Labor transactions and bar code scanning Work in a team environment using the skills of communicating, listening and participating in developing improvement on products and processes. Focus on safety, cleanliness of equipment and company product, including but not limited to: Simple maintenance, as required Clean work area as neededWhat will you need to be successful?Shift: Able to work in shift 3 (night shift).Education: High School diploma or equivalentLicense/certification: Must be able to successfully achieve certified operator status where applicable.Competencies: Must be able to read/write English, have basic math skills and show good attention to detail with paperwork. Legible handwriting a must. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew.
