Molding / Press Operator – 1st ShiftLocation: Worcester, MA 01606 Shift: 1st Shift – 5:00 AM–1:30 PM Hours: 40 hours per week Pay Rate: $22.00/hour Employment Type: W-2 Contract Math Assessment RequiredPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Molding / Press Operator to support a manufacturing operation in Worcester, MA.This position is responsible for operating hydraulic, robotic, and/or manual presses and molding equipment to compact manufacturing materials into finished shapes. The Operator will use established molding methods, procedures, and pressing techniques to produce parts according to required specifications.The position requires hands-on manufacturing experience, basic measurement skills, attention to product quality, and the ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate hydraulic, robotic, and/or manual presses and molding equipment.Mold and form materials into basic product shapes according to established specifications.Apply appropriate molding and pressing methods, procedures, and techniques.Load and position material for pressing and molding operations.Monitor the molding process to ensure proper product formation.Perform basic density testing on initial molded pieces to verify tolerances and conformance to specifications.Inspect molded products for quality and dimensional requirements.Use measuring equipment to verify product specifications.Utilize hand and power tools required for molding operations.Use a tamping gun and other production tools as required.Identify differences in molding materials and product characteristics.Follow established production procedures and work instructions.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.Work effectively with other production and manufacturing personnel.QualificationsPrevious manufacturing, machine operating, press operating, molding, production, or industrial experience preferred.Experience operating hydraulic presses, molding equipment, production presses, or similar industrial machinery highly desirable.Basic understanding of manufacturing or molding materials.Ability to learn different pressing and finishing techniques.Experience using measuring tools.Comfortable using hand and power tools.Basic math skills.Ability to follow production specifications and work instructions.Strong attention to detail and product quality.Ability to recognize and report product or process issues.Dependable attendance and ability to consistently work a 5:00 AM start time.Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.Quality & MeasurementThe Operator will perform basic quality checks on molded products, including density testing on initial pieces to determine whether the product meets required tolerances and specifications.Candidates should be comfortable using measuring tools and making basic comparisons between completed parts and established production requirements.Work EnvironmentThis is a hands-on industrial manufacturing position involving production presses, molding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing materials.Candidates should be comfortable working around industrial machinery and performing repetitive production activities while maintaining consistent quality and safety standards.
