Mold MakerThe Mold Maker manages builds and repairs of tooling projects.Shifts Available:1st shift: Monday - Thursday, possible overtime on FridaysResponsibilitiesInvestigate/Identify mold issues and perform necessary repairsIdentify and recommend improvements for tool development and performancePerform setup and operation of CNC equipmentPerform grinding of complex pins, cores, cavities and shutoffsPrepare components for heat treatmentPerform shutoffs with minimal oversightSupport mentoring apprentices and less experienced team membersRead and follow work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists accuratelyRecord time and repair details into the maintenance ticket system.QualificationsCompletion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience repairing molds4+ years minimum of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environment.Understanding of quality procedures and standardsAbility to build tools that include intricate part details, such as lifters, slides, and explodersAbility to provide informed input on repair, revision, and troubleshooting tasksAbility to perform tool fitting and final assembly with high accuracyAsking only minimal clarifying questions to complete tasks independentlyAbility to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprintsSkilled in using hand tools, surface grinders, mills, and lathesAbility to grind or machine a variety of mold componentsDemonstrate skills using Microsoft Word and ExcelFamiliarity with Operational Excellence or Lean Manufacturing practicesExcellent interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skillsAbility to read, comprehend, and follow work instructions and SOPsDemonstrated mechanical dexterity with strong hand-eye coordinationProven problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPreferred Requirements:7+ years of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environment preferredAssociate degree or 2 years of technical/trade school is preferredPhysical & Environmental Demands:Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.Pay RangeUSD $29.81 - USD $54.13 /Hr.Pay Range Details:This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures.
