Mold MakerAn established precision manufacturer is seeking experienced Mold Makers for both 1st and 2nd shifts. This is a hands-on position for a skilled tradesperson who can take tooling from print through machining, fitting, assembly, and final inspection.Completion of a formal Mold Maker, Toolmaker, or Tool & Die apprenticeship is required.Responsibilities:Build, assemble, repair, modify, and maintain molds and precision tooling.Set up and operate conventional and CNC machining equipment.Perform milling, turning, grinding, drilling, fitting, and related machining operations.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and tooling specifications.Machine and inspect components to tight tolerances.Perform bench work, fitting, spotting, polishing, and hand finishing.Troubleshoot mold/tooling problems and determine required repairs or modifications.Make tooling adjustments to improve quality and production performance.Partner with Engineering and Production to resolve mold and tooling issues.Inspect work using micrometers, indicators, height gauges, gauge blocks, calipers, and other precision instruments.Qualifications:Completed Mold Maker, Toolmaker, or Tool & Die apprenticeship required.5–10+ years of hands-on mold making, toolmaking, or tool & die experience.Experience personally building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining molds/tooling.Background in a mold shop, toolroom, precision job shop, or similar environment.Strong manual machining skills, particularly mills and surface grinders.Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.Experience holding tight tolerances and performing precision inspection.Strong bench work, fitting, spotting, polishing, and hand-finishing skills.Ability to independently troubleshoot tooling and mold problems.CNC milling and EDM experience are valuable.Shifts:1st Shift and 2nd Shift opportunities available.Keywords:Mold Maker • Journeyman Mold Maker • Tool Maker • Toolmaker • Tool & Die Maker • Mold Making • Mold Repair • Mold Building • Precision Tooling • Tool Room • Toolroom • Apprenticeship • Manual Machining • CNC Milling • Surface Grinding • EDM • Blueprint Reading • GD&T • Tight Tolerances • Bench Work • Mold Polishing • Mold Fitting • Spotting • Precision Machining • Precision Inspection
