Overview
The Grove United Methodist Church is an unapologetically Jesus-centered, inclusive church plant for the Leland, North Carolina community. We are seeking a musician to help us create a compelling modern worship experience that is both rooted in tradition and reimagined for today.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead modern worship for weekly services
- Work with the pastor to select music that is aligned with our United Methodist tradition and our core values
- Utilize the necessary Audio-Visual equipment for worship services and rehearsals.
- Coordinate logistics, including setup and teardown for rehearsals and service needs.
- Ensure all ministry activities comply with the Grove UMC’s Safe Sanctuaries policy.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Faith & Vision: Deep personal faith and commitment to a lifestyle of worship. Must exemplify the Grove’s values and support its theological direction.
- Musical Proficiency: Strong vocal ability and/or proficiency in a lead instrument (e.g., guitar, keyboard) with experience leading modern worship.
- Experience (volunteer or paid) leading worship in a church or ministry setting is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ProPresenter and Planning Center is preferred.
- Prior to employment, this position will require a background check in alignment with the Grove UMC’s Safe Sanctuaries policy.
