Modem RFSW Integration & Test Engineer
As a Modem RFSW Integration & Test Engineer, you will contribute to and drive the integration, validation, debugging, and testing of RF software on modem platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the correctness, stability, performance, and quality of RF systems for next-generation 5G/6G devices. You will take ownership of feature validation, issue resolution, test automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across RF software releases.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and drive integration, validation, and feature verification of RF software features (e.g., FR1/FR2, uplink/downlink scenarios, carrier aggregation, MIMO).
- Develop, enhance, and execute test cases and validation plans for functional, regression, system-level, and performance testing.
- Support and lead RF hardware and software bring-up activities for new chipsets, platforms, and feature introductions.
- Debug and troubleshoot RF software, calibration, and test failures, performing root cause analysis and driving issue resolution.
- Analyze logs, test results, modem traces, and system data to identify trends, isolate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Validate RF software releases and ensure feature readiness through comprehensive testing and issue tracking.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts, tools, and validation frameworks to improve test efficiency, coverage, and scalability.
- Participate in setup, optimization, and maintenance of RF test lab environments and equipment.
- Collaborate with RF, Modem SW, Systems, Automation, and Product teams to investigate and resolve integration issues.
- Document validation results, defect analysis, test methodologies, and lessons learned in a clear and structured manner.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
- Drive continuous improvements in validation methodologies, automation, and quality processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in RF testing, wireless systems, embedded software validation, modem integration, or related engineering fields.
- Experience with software debugging, system validation, or wireless technology development is preferred.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals (TX/RX chains, calibration, RF impairments, link performance)
- String understanding of Wireless technologies including LTE, 5G NR, and exposure to emerging 6G concepts
- Experience with RF test equipment, Base station simulators, RF calibration and validation methodologies
- Familiarity with modem architecture and RF software integration workflows
- Experience debugging issues in embedded, Android, Linux, or system-level environments
- Understanding of wireless protocol logs and RF performance measurements
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Shell, Perl, or similar languages
- Experience developing or maintaining test automation frameworks and validation tools
- Proficiency with Linux and Android environments
- Experience in data analysis, log parsing, and large-scale validation data processing
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git), CI/CD workflows, and automated testing methodologies
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, AI-assisted debugging, predictive analytics, or intelligent automation tools
- Ability to leverage automation and AI-driven workflows to improve engineering productivity and test effectiveness
Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits :
$107,000.00 - $160,600.00
