Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer
OASYS, INC., a Leading-Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to support our Air Force customer. Job Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities
* Participate in the development, implementation, and refinement of 3-DoF and 6-DoF physics-based simulation models
* Participate in the modeling of vehicle trajectories, debris dispersion patterns, and dynamic system behavior
* Validate physics models against analytical results, test data, and performance requirements
* Perform end-to-end software lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, architecture, design, coding, integration, and test
* Produce technical documentation for models, algorithms, and software products
* Participate in model reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings
* Support fielded simulation tools and assist with troubleshooting, updates, and enhancements
Minimum Requirements
* 3-5 years with modeling and simulation software or physics based software experience
* Proficiency in C++, Python, Java or other object-oriented programming languages
* Practical experience with 3-DoF and 6-DoF modeling techniques
* Demonstrated experience modeling vehicle trajectories and debris patterns
* Knowledge of physics models
* Familiarity with Agile development practices, specifically Scrum
* Experience working on cross-discipline engineering teams
Preferred Skills
* Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or other version control systems
* Background using simulation tools/frameworks (MATLAB, Simulink, STK, physics engines)
* Linux development experience (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.)
* Experience with visualization tools or simulation analysis pipelines
* Experience with real-time, hardware-in-the-loop, or mission-level simulation environments
* Certified ScrumMaster (optional)
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline. Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree. Eligibility:
