Bell Timber Mobile Equipment OperatorBell Timber is seeking a safety-conscious, reliable Mobile Equipment Operator to support operations by safely handling raw materials and finished products in a dynamic outdoor environment.Job PurposeAs a Mobile Equipment Operator, you'll be responsible for the safe handling and movement of utility poles and lumber materials across our site. You'll operate front-end loaders, ensure loads are secure, and contribute to a clean, organized yard.Hours: 7am - 3:30pm, some overtime may be requiredPay: $23-$26 per hour, based on experienceYour responsibilities will include:Operating heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks, trams, and railcarsPerforming pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliabilityFollowing work orders and loading poles with accuracy and attention to detailMaintaining equipment cleanliness, fueling, and reporting any issuesCommunicating clearly with yard staff, drivers, and supervisorsMonitoring load balance and securing materials to prevent damageAdhering to safety standards and wearing appropriate PPEAssisting with general yard duties as neededUnderstanding OSHA safety rules and working in compliance with the Bell Timber safety standards, policies, and procedures.Identifying and reporting any and all unsafe working conditions.Ability to read and understand equipment startup procedures, operation procedures, shutdown procedures, and maintenance manuals.Performing all work in compliance with company standards and procedures.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAt least one year of related experience preferredPrior experience in the lumber industry is a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow technical proceduresClear communication with coworkers, supervisors, and driversProficiency with heavy machinery and safe handling techniquesAbility to identify unsafe conditions and follow Bell's safety standardsTeam player who can adapt to changing conditions and prioritiesEffective time management and ability to meet deadlinesPhysical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basisBell Lumber & Pole CompanyWith a family legacy spanning over 115 years, Bell Lumber & Pole Co. and its businesses (Bell Timber Inc., Bell Structural Systems, Alamco Wood Products) have established a reputation for excellence.As one of the largest producers of high-quality, renewable wood poles and structures for utility and telecom companies across North America and beyond, Bell plays a vital role in powering the future.
