Responsibilities
- Collect and process patient specimens.
- Perform laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and/or microbiology.
- Analyze and verify test results for accuracy and validity prior to reporting.
- Ensure critical values are communicated and documented according to policy.
- Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and documentation activities.
- Troubleshoot quality control issues and laboratory instrumentation.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration, and minor repairs on laboratory equipment.
- Utilize EPIC and laboratory information systems for specimen tracking, result reporting, and documentation.
- Participate in instrument evaluations, method validations, and implementation of new procedures.
- Assist in training and mentoring laboratory staff and students.
- Maintain competency and compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.
- Current MLT/MLS Generalist Certification or Specialty Certification (BB, C, H, or M).
- Hematology and Blood Bank experience required.
- Education verification required.
- Must meet CLIA high-complexity testing personnel qualifications (42 CFR ).
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous hospital laboratory experience.
- Experience working with EPIC or similar laboratory information systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- 13-week contract assignment.
- Night shift schedule.
- 40 hours per week.
- Holiday coverage required.
- No state license required for this position.
