Location : Clinton IL 61727
Duration : 10 weeks Contract
Pay Range : $40- $48/hr
Shift : Days
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) to perform a variety of laboratory testing procedures and provide accurate, timely results to support quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests and procedures according to established laboratory policies and procedures.
• Follow all applicable requirements of accrediting and regulatory agencies.
• Provide laboratory services appropriate for patients of all age groups, including newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as required.
• Accurately document and report laboratory results.
• Maintain quality control and follow established safety and infection-control procedures.
• Perform mathematical calculations and apply sound judgment when carrying out laboratory procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain proper body mechanics and safely handle/lift equipment and supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more when required.
• Perform other laboratory duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related Biological Science.
• ASCP certification as MLT or MT/MLS required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn/use laboratory information systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good reading, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow simple one- or two-step instructions and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to work effectively with patients across all age groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Meditech experience is a plus.
• Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
