Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality veterinary care and use excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.
Mono Way Veterinary Hospital in Sonora, California has been providing high‑quality care for over 45 years. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, internal medicine, and boarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
- Communicate with clients and educate them about care plans
- Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Prescribe medications and follow controlled‑substance protocols
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily operations from intake to discharge
- Monitor cases and attend daily rounds to uphold high standards
- Participate in practice‑management updates and training at all levels
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications (Required)
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited college or university
- Active State Veterinary License
- DEA registration obtained and maintained
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent surgical and dental skills
- Team‑oriented work style
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care
- Clear communication with all staff members and clients
- Ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and explain treatment plans to pet owners
- Ability to reassure stressed, ill, or painful pets
- Capable of physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderately demanding work

- Advanced clinical knowledge for comprehensive examinations and diagnosis of various systems

Compensation Overview
- Salary Range: $150,000 – $170,000 USD
- No negative accrual and no non‑compete
- Paid time off and holidays
