In this role, the MWS Chief Engineer will serve as the system architect, the primary owner of the technical solution, and the technical interface to Program, Engineering, Functional and Executive leadership.
They will drive the technical direction of our MWS product line, ensuring the systems, products and services being developed and delivered are supporting the business strategic objectives, viable, fit for purpose, and will satisfy the customer's mission and requirements.Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Collaborate with internal business and engineering leadership to shape the technical strategy and direction of the MWS portfolio.Work with the product line technical director to develop technical roadmaps and guide internal investments and capability development to position the portfolio for future growth.Develop trusted customer relationships that enable opportunities to shape and influence customer requirements, requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs).Participate as a key contributor to proposal activities: leading system architecture and overall technical solution definition.Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.Collaborate with individual program chief engineers within the portfolio to ensure program executionResearch, analyze, and evaluate emerging technologies and tools.Lead system architecture design and optimization activities, trade studies and analyses.Provide mentorship to grow the next generation of chief engineers.Required Education, Experience, & SkillsBachelor's degree and Minimum 12 years' work experience in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science including technical leadership experience and capabilities relevant to the businessRequires qualified candidates to hold an active Secret security clearanceDevelops information which extends knowledge in applicable product areas and may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories and products.Acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs.Experience with project estimation, schedule & resource planning, project execution & tracking and earned value managementExperience with all phases of program execution from proposal to sustainmentExperience interacting with senior management and customers and overseeing/leading cross functional teamsPreferred Education, Experience, & SkillsProven ability to work in large teams with a self-starting approach.Experience in managing scope in dynamic environments with shifting prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to form a vision and implement action plans to achieve that visionProven ability to share and transfer technology across organizational boundaries to the benefit of our customers and businessPay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $ - $ Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
