Minnesota Licensed Authorization Specialist

To support the Billing Department, the part-time Dedicated Authorization Specialist will manage prior authorizations and medical necessity requirements for outpatient tests, treatments, and inpatient admissions, primarily working remotely with some on-site responsibilities in Hibbing, MN. Key responsibilities Initiate prior authorizations for outpatient tests, treatments, and inpatient admissions as required by payers Obtain pre-certifications for all inpatient and outpatient surgeries and manage workers' compensation cases Maintain current knowledge of insurance requirements and ensure timely and accurate entry of medical insurance information Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of experience in a related healthcare field, such as Patient Access and/or Billing Experience with computer systems, phone etiquette, and customer service
