Seeking a Mine Development Planner to support the early-stage development of a large-scale open-pit mining project.
This role is critical in bridging long-term mine planning with on-the-ground execution, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-sequenced development of new mining infrastructure.
What you'll do:
* Lead planning and sequencing for early mine development (0-2 year horizon aligned to Life of Mine plans)
* Oversee site preparation including haul roads, drainage systems, waste rock dumps, and topsoil management
* Design and support safe pit development, including geotechnical and water management considerations
* Coordinate and manage earthworks contractors during initial mine construction phases
* Ensure compliance with environmental permits and safety standards (MSHA/OSHA)
* Act as the key link between planning teams and field operations to resolve real-time site challenges
What we're looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
* 5-8+ years of experience in large-scale open-pit mining operations
* Strong proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik or Hexagon) and Civil 3D
* Solid understanding of mining regulations, permitting, and safety compliance (MSHA/OSHA)
* Prior greenfield or early mine development experience highly desirable
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt plans to field conditions
