This position is a non exempt position and offers an hourly rate of $38.65 or $43.65 (Level 1 or Journeyman) depending on your experience level. Additionally, the Mendocino Companies own and operate a 25-megaWatt biomass cogeneration power plant and wood pellet plant.ResponsibilitiesThe Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment while adhering to safety and productivity standards. Operates hand tools, machine tools, power tools, forklifts, manlifts, and welding equipment.
As a Level 1 or Journeyman, you are expected to perform the work with no supervision or direction.Key Duties:Demonstrates competency in trouble shooting and repairing of pneumatic and hydraulic apparatuses, with a solid understanding of both systemsMaintain all material conveying systems according to manufacture's specifications and companySupports Company preventative maintenance program; works as an integral part of the maintenanceDismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repairedCleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts ofAdvanced skill level in layout and cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metalEffectively communicates with coworkers when notified ofFollows all lockout / tagout, hot work permit and confined space procedures and testing machines for restart.Fill line oilers dailyAbility to identify potential problems prior to failuresDemonstrates solid troubleshooting skills with more complicated maintenance problems providing technical direction to other millwrights as requiredQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentOne year certificate from college or technical school. Or minimum four years related Sawmill experience. Or four years of technical craft training.
