Job DescriptionThe Millwright installs machinery and equipment in an industrial establishment by performing the following:ResponsibilitiesLead and perform mechanical installations, shutdowns, repairs, and maintenance workTrain and mentor millwrights and support a strong safety cultureWork with management to improve maintenance and equipment reliabilityTroubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs with minimal supervisionRead and interpret blueprints and schematicsDismantle, move, align, assemble, and install machinery and equipmentBuild foundations and secure machinery by bolting, welding, or fasteningOperate lathes and tools to machine parts to specificationRepair, lubricate, and maintain equipmentPerform basic electrical tasks related to motor replacementInstall robotic equipment and make basic program changesSupervise small crews and see projects through completionFollow all safety, quality, and food/feed safety requirementsWork overtime and respond to emergency call-outs as neededPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)8+ years of millwright experience, including supervisory or lead roles.High level of safety and qualityAbility to multi-task at a fast pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.)Good problem-solving skillsPreferred: Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - PreferredForklift experience - PreferredComputer Software - PreferredWarehouse experience - PreferredAbout UsU.S. Silica is a leading producer of industrial minerals essential to modern life.
